Troy Strawhecker, Senior Vice President & Partner, has joined MYA Logistics President Jamie Cord as co-owner of the newly named JT Logistics - marking a new chapter for the Urbandale-based warehousing and transportation company.
The rebrand reflects the company's rapid growth and new ownership structure. JT Logistics grew from four warehouses at the start of 2020 to nine warehouses by year's end, and hired 31 new employees over the course of the year - all during a global pandemic.
A New Identity for a New Era
The name "JT" comes from the first initials of the company's owners. The rebranding from MYA Logistics to JT Logistics signals the company's ambition to become a national player in third-party logistics, warehousing, and transportation.
Under Cord's leadership since 2014 - when he joined and the company was still operating as United Warehousing Corporation - the business has transformed from a regional warehousing operation into a diversified logistics provider with services spanning warehousing, transportation, staffing, and industrial services.
Positioned for Growth
The addition of Strawhecker as co-owner brings new strategic leadership to the executive team. Together, Cord and Strawhecker have laid out an aggressive growth plan that would see JT Logistics expand its footprint across the United States in the years ahead.
MYA Logistics started a transportation arm in 2018, which by the time of the rebrand operated 18 tractors and 36 trailers - adding freight services to the company's warehouse-centric roots.
